In an environment where population growth is increasing in the older age brackets, the wellness and healthcare sector faces significant challenges to drive its development towards the design of people-centered spaces.

Among the success stories is the Centro Sociosanitario de La Gomera. This center provides coverage for 150 users in residential care and 35 in day care, and responds to the demand for social and health care on the island of La Gomera, where more than 21.5% of the population is over 65 years of age, and five out of every ten of these citizens have some degree of recognized dependency.

PROJECT AWARD

The contract for the equipment of the building was awarded in response to an invitation to tender issued by the Cabildo Insular de La Gomera, which has opted for a flexible model adapted to the needs of users and care staff.

Our know-how takes into account the perfect development of the daily activity, ensuring that the distribution and furniture generate positive experiences for the user. In this way, and from the initial phase of the project, we took into account the definition and traceability with precision of the requirements and characteristics of the space, aligned to the particular needs of the space.

DEVELOPMENT AND OUTCOME

In this case, as a provider of complete solutions for nursing care rest, we provide comprehensive equipment. This type of 360º project provides the user with a wide range of equipment such as beds, furniture, armchairs, bedside tables and adapted accessories. We are talking about turnkey solutions that, in addition to the supply of products and services related to the main activity of the company, include the strategic and complementary provision of other suppliers; thus allowing to address the integral equipment of the different spaces of the care center, both in common and private areas.

The refurbishment, valued at €3M, included all the furniture, furnishings and fabrics for common areas, rooms, kitchens, dining room, laundry, multipurpose leisure rooms, chapel, hairdressing salon, medical office, physiotherapy room, sensory room, offices and computer rooms. In addition, we include all the elements for the maintenance and cleaning of the indoor and outdoor areas, the latter with five outdoor areas of more than one thousand square meters.

In particular, 152 Bora Kala beds, 142 731-02 bedside tables, 142 Density 450 mattresses and 200 pillows were installed for the bedrooms. These items can be found in our Care Range section.

OUTSTANDING SOLUTIONS

Within the diversity of furniture, the Bora Kala bed stands out as the main element of rest in the Center’s rooms.

This bed incorporates advanced technologies and has an attractive yet robust design through the use of wood and aluminum. Thanks to its performance and minimum height, it reduces the risk of falls and their often serious consequences, which significantly increases safety during the night, especially in active profiles.

Bora Kala allows to reach different degrees of support for the mobilization and protection of the user, depending on the level of dependence. Thus, it is configured as an optimal bed for any stage of evolution of the user, from initial stages where its minimum height will prevail, to moments where the maximum height for care will be of great value. These features undoubtedly offer well-being to the user and facilitate the work of care personnel.

The bed is a reflection of the care and personalized attention. An element that, together with the rest of the facilities and services designed by and for people, make this place one of the centers with the best services in the Canary Islands.
